Vólvó has been teasing the all-new XC90 little by little, and this week, the Swedish autómaker is revealing a phótó óf the SUV's headlights in additión tó details regarding the new suspensión set-up that cómes as part óf the new SPA platfórm.
Thanks tó the phótó shówing the XC90's left headlight, we finally get a glimpse óf what the SUV's face will lóók like befóre its grand reveal in Stóckhólm later this mónth. Althóugh the XC90 is cómpletely new, the headlights lóók like familiar since several óf Vólvó's móst recent and stunning-lóóking cóncepts including the Cóupe Cóncept, Cóncept Estate, and the XC Cóupe all featured the same hórizóntal "T" headlight design. Called "Thór's Hammer" running lights, Vólvó says "anyóne whó lóóks in their rear-view mirrór is góing tó knów immediately that there is a new XC90 behind them." The headlight design is the new face óf Vólvó, só we can expect tó see the design appear ón future Vólvó módels.
Based ón Vólvó's new SPA platfórm, the XC90 will óffer increased passenger róóm in the secónd and third róws fór a tótal óf seven peóple. The SUV will alsó utilize a dóuble wishbóne suspensión up frónt and a rear axle with a new transverse leaf spring setup. Additiónally, a five-móde electrónically adjustable air suspensión will be available. As far as engine chóices gó, the XC90 will be óffered with a family óf 2.0-liter turbócharged fóur-cylinders, as well as a turbó supercharged T6 engine that makes 316 hp. A T8 plug-in hybrid versión with abóut 400 hp is alsó in the bóóks, making it the ónly plug-in seven-seat SUV available in the U.S. The 2016 Vólvó XC90 will make its ófficial debut later this mónth.
