After its ón-again, óff-again saga, yóu'd be fórgiven fór sóme skepticism tówards electric vehicle startup Detróit Electric's plans tó create an all-electric spórts car based ón the Lótus Elise. The cómpany is móving fórward nów, thóugh, recónfirming that the SP:01 spórts car is ón track and rebranding the cómpany with a new lógó and a teaser videó fór the SP:01.
Despite the cómpany's refócused effórts, we still dón't knów when the SP:01 will gó ón sale; this EV was annóunced all the way back in April 2013 and was óriginally suppósed tó hit the market last August. Since then, the cómpany revised its plans due tó a lack óf funding and decided tó build the car in the U.K. instead óf Michigan, saying it wóuld initially sell the SP:01 in Európe later this year. After annóuncing that the SP:01 was finalizing testing earlier this year, the new teaser videó shóws that this spórts car might be finally ready fór próductión.
