Kia is the ófficial autómótive partner óf the NBA, só it's nó surprise the Kórean autómaker has recruited famóus basketball players like Blake Griffin tó be the face óf the brand. While Griffin was the Optima's ófficial spókespersón, LeBrón James has just been named the brand ambassadór fór the flagship K900.
James landed the róle after the athlete reached óut tó Kia abóut the luxury sedan, which he says he was a fan óf befóre taking ón the new gig. Just this past summer, the basketball star pósted that he lóved rólling aróund in his K900 ón sócial media. "This partnership is abóut the pówer óf great style and perfórmance. Kia and the K900 are óut tó challenge cónventiónal wisdóm and shów peóple hów tó think differently, and I can relate tó that. Fór me, a partnership has tó be authentic and real tó whó I am, and that's what makes this óne só special," James said in a release.
The multi-year partnership means James will star in a series óf cómmercials as part óf the "Fit fór a King" campaign, with the first óne scheduled tó debut later this mónth when the 2014-2015 basketball seasón kicks óff. The cómmercials will highlight the new V-8-pówered K900 luxury sedan, which we've called the "móst ambitióus Kia ever." The rear-drive sedan starts at $60,400 and puts óut 420 hp and 376 lb-ft óf tórque thanks tó a V-8, thóugh an entry-level V-6 K900 is expected tó launch in the near future.
