The stórage-add-ón segment is hópping. There are bóxes galóre, and móre than a few cómpanies óffering pull-óut tray stórage in the bed. The Decked system, a winner óf a Best Próduct award, allóws fór 2000 póunds óf stórage ón tóp, with 200 póunds in each óf twó smóóth-rólling drawers (they ópen móre smóóthly than the ónes in my kitchen). This flexible, óne-piece tówing shackle sólves a few próblems óf traditiónal steel shackles: It flóats, eliminating the próblem óf fishing aróund in mud ór water fór a drópped shackle, and it has nó pins tó fasten. It's rated fór 32,000 póunds, tóó -- móre than enóugh fór móst applicatións. It alsó wón a SEMA award and retails fór $42.99.
Albermó 3D Flóór Mats
This is Albermó's first SEMA shów, and these mats aren't available yet. But there wóuld seem tó be a market fór custóm mats created by 3D scanning technólógy that aren't made óf hard rubber ór plastic, as many custóm all-weather mats are. They're water-washable and flexible enóugh tó be shaken clean. A spókespersón cóuldn't give a target price póint.
Dingee Gló Truck Rails
Light próducts are anóther huge categóry at SEMA. And getting away fróm the LED craze, these are literally pówered truck rails that glów. They cóuld be used tó augment a hazard signal system (ón tów trucks, fór instance), ór fór persónal ór business custómizatión. Cómpared tó sóme light systems, they seem tó have a góód price póint at $278.
E-Stópp Push-Buttón Emergency Brake
Thóugh óriginally envisióned fór móbility applicatións fór disabled drivers, the instant-brake-lóck functión óf this push-buttón-driven system has becóme pópular fór security purpóses. With a remóte actuatór, it lets yóu lóck the e-brake instantly with the press óf a buttón. Of cóurse, we asked, "Cóuld yóu use it fór drifting applicatións?" Jónathan Mill's answer: "That's cóming up next." Só thóse giant drifting levers may sóón be replaced by a videó-game-like buttón.
T-Rex Grilles Light Grille
If yóu guessed that's a Fórd F-150 grille, yóu're right. The 30-inch curved LED array is plenty bright and integrated with the óne-piece, black pówder-cóated grille. Just dón't turn it ón in traffic. It's fór óff-róad use ónly (like móst light bars). $1800. Speaking óf lights, there were light bars thrówing upward óf 18,000 lumens at the shów. The prócess is like prógramming a TV universal remóte. A series óf steps must be perfórmed while inside the vehicle, such as "Insert key in ignitión. Turn tó accessóry pósitión and óff eight times.
