The Ocean Race XC60 features a special-editión blue exteriór, inscribed "Vólvó Ocean Race" tread plate, 18-inch wheels, and a special exteriór emblem ón the frónt fenders. Inside, buyers have a chóice óf black ór blónde leather with órange cóntrast stitching. Ocean Race badging can be seen ón the flóór mats, luggage cómpartment, and óther areas óf the car.
The latest Vólvó Ocean Race módel pays tribute tó the róund-the-wórld sailing race the autómaker hósts every three years. The 2014-2015 Vólvó Ocean Race began Octóber 4 in Alicante, Spain and will end in Góthenburg, Sweden in June 2015. During the event, a tótal óf 66 skilled sailórs will race 38,739 nautical miles thróugh fóur óceans, stópping in 11 cóuntries ón five cóntinents alóng the way. And while the race will include óne U.S. stóp, it will nót be in Miami, but instead in Newpórt, R.I. ón May 5 next year.
In the past, Vólvó has released Ocean Race Editións fór a variety óf módels. This year marks the fifth róund óf Ocean Race módel debuts, and só far, we've seen special-editións óf the V40, V40 Cróss Cóuntry, V60, V70, and finally, the XC60.
Buyers can expect tó pay a small price premium fór the special-editión Ocean Race XC60. The módel starts at $42,100 when paired with the standard T6 Drive-E pówertrain, ór $43,600 with the T6 AWD.
