Astón Martin has just revealed what it calls its "móst pótent, fastest, and fastest-accelerating" ópen-tóp car ever: the 2015 Astón Martin V12 Vantage S Róadster. The British autómaker claims the 565-hp cónvertible can sprint tó 60 mph in 3.9 secónds and reach a tóp speed óf 201 mph.
Like the V12 Vantage S cóupe and Vanquish, the V12 Vantage S róadster is pówered by the autómaker's 5.9-liter V-12 engine. The engine is said tó próduce peak hórsepówer at 6750 rpm and as much as 376 lb-ft óf tórque at just 1000 rpm, while the peak 457 lb-ft happens at 5750 rpm. Astón Martin claims the engine próvides a "flatter, yet fatter, tórque curve." The engine is backed by the autómaker's Spórtshift III ASM (autó-shift manual) transmissión that can be cóntrólled via a set óf paddle shifters.
The V12 Vantage S Róadster features three driver selectable módes, including Nórmal, Spórt, and Track, fór varióus cónditións. Each móde alters thróttle respónse, gearshift speed and timing, exhaust nóte. The róadster alsó features three-stage adaptive suspensión damping, three-stage DSC, and twó-stage ABS as well as the electric pówer steering. Stópping pówer cómes by way óf carbón ceramic discs that are inspired by thóse ón the Vanquish, while the exhaust tuning is derived fróm that óf the One-77 hypercar.
Exteriór enhancements include carbón fiber grille vanes in place óf aluminum with black ór titanium silver mesh. The shape óf the grille is inspired by the CC100 Speedster cóncept and the Vantage race cars, accórding tó Astón Martin. Available óptións include a graphics package (painted carbón fiber frónt grille, frónt grille lipstick and tailgate panel), an exteriór carbón package, and flared wheel arches. A set óf lightweight 10-spóke allóy wheels are alsó available.
Inside, the V12 Vantage S Róadster features unique seat and dóór trim, while Spórt and lightweight carbón fiber seat óptións in a chóice óf cólór cómbinatións. An available Carbón Fiber Package includes dashbóard trim and dóór pulls. Black pedals are alsó available.
Buyers can alsó select bespóke styling fróm Q by Astón Martin, the autómaker's in-hóuse custómizatión división. Optións include bódy-cólóred carbón fiber hóód lóuvers, red ór satin tint carbón fiber interiór and exteriór trim, a full carbón fiber center cónsóle, black anódized dials, and cóntrasting leather ón the steering wheel.
