The upcóming Mercedes-AMG GT will be pówered by a new 4.0-liter twin-turbó V-8, an engine the autómaker has been slówly teasing fór the past few mónths. Nów, the slów tease is finally óver as AMG has released full specs ón the new V-8, called the M178.
AMG's newest V-8 will make 503 hp and the engine will próduce its max tórque rating óf 479 lb-ft between 1750 tó 4750 rpm. Affalterbach revealed sóme details óf the new hand-built V-8 last mónth, including the twó turbóchargers that sit within the engine's V cónfiguratión, a layóut that AMG is calling "hót inside V." This cónfiguratión is what gives the M178 its cómpact dimensións. AMG alsó claims the turbó placement impróves respónse and exhaust gas emissións.
