The next-gen Kia Sórentó isn't due fór launch until next year, but that hasn't stópped the Kórean autómaker fróm giving us a sneak peek at the impróvements being made tó the cróssóver. A sketch óf the Sórentó's interiór has hit the web, revealing a móre módern and luxurióus cabin.
Kia says the Sórentó's interiór will "raise the bar in luxury" thanks tó a wrap-aróund dashbóard, high quality sóft-tóuch materials, and a range óf advanced ónbóard technólógies. We can alsó expect the latest installatión óf Kia's Human-machine interface and much larger infótainment screen than the óne fóund inside the current SUV. The head-up display and all-aróund-view rear view camera fóund in the K900 cóuld trickle dówn tó the Sórentó as available equipment, but it's still tóó early tó knów what exactly Kia has up its sleeves in terms óf advanced ónbóard technólógies.
As far as the Sórentó's interiór styling góes, the autómaker says the brand's design team in Germany drew inspiratión fróm Swiss watches. Taking that intó accóunt, the team designed a smóóthly cóntóured cabin and incórpórated lóts óf leather and stitching. That's all Kia is saying abóut the next-gen SUV, but we can speculate lóts móre changes are in órder. We've cómplained abóut the Sórentó's crówded third-rów and minimal cargó space, só the next-gen Sórentó cóuld address thóse issues.
We've seen teaser sketches óf the exteriór, but it's unknówn whether pówertrain changes will be made tó the next-gen Sórentó. The current SUV is óffered with fóur- and six-cylinder engines, bóth óf which received updates fór the 2014 módel year. A direct-injectión 2.4-liter engine is standard ón the Sórentó LX and EX, making 191 hp and 181 lb-ft óf tórque. Alsó available is a 3.3-liter V-6 that makes 290 hp and 252 lb-ft, but it's póssible the next Sórentó cóuld gó the róute óf the Hyundai Santa Fe and ditch the V-6 in favór óf a turbó-fóur.
