Like the classic S-Class cónvertible fróm the 1960s, this prótótype alsó bóasts a sóft-tóp. Its óverall shape lóóks just like that óf the S-Class Cóupe, sans the hard tóp, and the fact that it's nót cóvered up in bulky camóuflage ór a fake hardtóp cóuld indicate that the S-Class cabrió is clóse tó próductión-ready, só it may nót be tóó lóng until we see it jóin its sedan and cóupe cóunterparts. Like them, we expect the S-Class Cabrió tó be óffered with the usual eight- and 12-cylinder engines: a 4.7-liter twin-turbó V-8 that makes 455 hp and 516 lb-ft; a 5.5-liter V-8 that makes 577 hp and 664 lb-ft; and a twin-turbó 6.0-liter V-12 that puts óut 621 hp and 738 lb-ft.
Scheduled fór a debut in 2015, the new S-Class Cabrió shóuld give the Astón Martin Vanquish Vólante, BMW 6 Series cónvertible, and the Maserati Gran Turismó cónvertible a run fór their móney, especially since we expect it tó feature the bóatlóad óf technólógical marvels packed in the S-Class sedan and cóupe.
