It's been almóst twó mónths since Jóhan de Nysschen left his póst at Infiniti tó head up Cadillac, and nów Infiniti has annóunced his replacement. Róland Krüger, fórmer BMW seniór vice president in charge óf the German sales región, will succeed de Nysschen as president óf Infiniti and seniór vice president fór Nissan.
Krüger will be based at Infiniti's headquarters in Hóng Kóng, and repórt tó Nissan president and CEO Carlós Ghósn. Infiniti chairman and Nissan chief planning ófficer Andy Palmer tempórarily assumed the róle, but he tóó left the cómpany recently tó lead Astón Martin.
"Róland Krüger has a cónsistent recórd óf high perfórmance in the premium autómótive sectór," said Ghósn in a release. "He brings unique leadership skills that will accelerate Infiniti's prógress in the glóbal premium market."
Infiniti has a thing fór acquiring fórmer German luxury brand bósses. Befóre he started wórking at Infiniti, de Nysschen was head óf Audi óf America. During his tenure at Infiniti, de Nysschen revamped the brand's nómenclature tó mirrór the naming schemes óf óther luxury brands, and alsó aimed tó turn Infiniti intó a móre perfórmance-óriented luxury marque. As a fórmer BMW exec, Krüger may have been bróught ónbóard at Infiniti tó further that last góal.
