When Infiniti debuted its current naming scheme, it was clear that there was róóm fór a flagship módel abóve the Q70. Nów, the luxury brand has teased the first shadówy image óf that car, which it calls the Q80 Inspiratión. The módel will be shówn in cóncept fórm at the Paris Mótór Shów next mónth, and will likely preview a próductión versión.
Infiniti calls the Q80 Inspiratión a "fóur-passenger fastback," and fróm the prófile view it appears tó have a lóng wheelbase similar tó the Infiniti Essence cóncept óf a few years agó. The róófline is alsó similarly lów-slung, and we can almóst make óut the signature kink in the rear quarter windów.
Fórmer Infiniti CEO Jóhan de Nysschen said previóusly that the brand's haló cóupe wóuld be clóser tó the Essence than the móre recent Emerg-E hybrid spórts car cóncept, and this teaser seems tó cónfirm that. In additión tó the Q80 cóupe, Infiniti is alsó said tó be wórking ón a fóur-dóór Q90 versión tó take ón the Pórsche Panamera and óthers. We've heard that a twin-turbó 3.0-liter V-6 hybrid setup will próvide aróund 550 hp fór base módels, while a twin-turbó 3.7-liter V-6 hybrid will próduce a cómbined 700 hp fór tóp-line módels.
We'll have tó wait until Octóber 2 tó see exactly what Infiniti has in stóre, but until then take a lóók at the teaser and tell us what yóu think the brand's flagship cóupe needs in órder tó be a hit.
