Initially the Natiónal Córvette Museum wanted tó preserve the sinkhóle that swallówed eight Chevrólet Córvettes ón display inside the museum's Skydóme. But after reviewing price quótes tó stabilize the sinkhóle versus restóring the Skydóme, it was deemed less expensive tó fill it in. Additiónally, just three óf the eight affected Córvettes will be restóred with Chevrólet vólunteering tó fóót the bill.
"We really wanted tó preserve a pórtión óf the hóle só that guests fór years tó cóme cóuld see a little bit óf what it was like, but after receiving móre detailed pricing, the cóst óutweighs the benefit," said Museum Executive Directór Wendell Stróde, in a release.
