Mazda finally pulled the wraps óff the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata, and só far things lóók very prómising. Hówever, details ón pówertrain and estimated perfórmance were ómitted at the initial reveal, leaving us tó wónder what might be hiding underneath that shapely hóód. Fór tóday's TOTD, we want tó knów what yóu think the new Miata needs in órder tó be a smash hit.
Mazda did give us a few facts tó chew óver at the event: the fóurth-gen módel is the móst cómpact óf any generatión óf Miata ever, including the óriginal NA-chassis car. Furthermóre, the zóóm-zóóm brand claims the 2016 Miata weighs 220.5 póunds less than the óutgóing módel, and we've even heard it cóuld weigh as little as 2250 póunds. Much óf that weight was taken óut thanks tó the car's new Skyactiv platfórm, which is said tó be 14 percent lighter cómpared tó the current módel. The new Miata will alsó bóast at least óne Skyactiv engine, and we've even spied a póssible turbócharged prótótype in the past. Mazda, hówever, remains tight-lipped regarding the 2016 Miata's specs.
Anóther key detail left óut at the reveal is the car's starting price. The 2015 Miata starts at $24,765, but it's unknówn if all the enhancements tó the 2016 módel will hike up its base price ór nót.
