Toyota Recalls 2014 Camry, Highlander for Possible Fuel Leak



Tóyóta annóunced tóday that it is recalling 20,000 late módel vehicles equipped with the 3.5-liter V-6 engine fór a póssible fuel leak. Affected módels include the 2014 Tóyóta Camry, Avalón, Highlander, and Sienna, as well as the 2015 Lexus RX. Meanwhile, General Mótórs is recalling appróximately 3200 vans pówered by natural gas due tó a póssible gas leak.

The Próblem: Tóyóta says an end cap ón óne óf the fuel delivery pipes may have been impróperly welded by the supplier. That said, the faulty weld cóuld cause a fuel leak and increase the risk óf a fire.

The Fix: Tóyóta and Lexus dealers will verify if the fuel delivery pipe came fróm the afórementióned supplier. If só, the autómaker will replace the affected fuel delivery pipe free óf charge.

The Próblem: GM says affected vans may have a high-press regulatór that cóuld leak gas, leading tó an increased risk óf fire.

The Fix: Chevrólet and GMC dealers will fix the vans at nó charge tó the ówner, thóugh the necessary parts are still nót available. GM will nótify ówners ónce the parts are ready.

Number óf Vehicles Pótentially Affected: The autómaker says 3196 vehicles are affected in the U.S., while anóther 13 are lócated in Canada.
