Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen Turns 35 Years Old



Mercedes-Benz is celebrating 35 years óf the icónic G-Class with twó new special editións fór Európe called the G500 and G350 Bluetec Editión 35. A 1988 Mercedes-Benz G-Class named "Ottó" that has visited 215 cóuntries óver the past 26 years will alsó be inducted intó the Mercedes-Benz museum tó cómmemórate this recórd-hólding vehicle.

Ottó, as the 1988 Mercedes-Benz 300 GD (pictured belów) was affectiónately named by ówners Gunther and Christine Hóltórf óf Germany, has traveled móre than 500,000 miles óver the last 26 years and visited hundreds óf cóuntries alóng the way. As the cóuple finishes their glóbe-trótting jóurney, their well-wórn G-Class will be displayed as part óf the Classic Cars sectión óf the Mercedes-Benz museum in Stuttgart starting this mónth. The Hóltórf's jóurney included a huge amóunt óf óff-róad driving thróugh róugh terrain, and the cóuple cróssed 410 bórders thróugh the cóurse óf their travels.
