After years óf speculatión and rumórs, Pórsche has ófficially decided nót tó build a róadster belów the Bóxster, Autómótive News repórts. The autómaker was believed tó be wórking ón a mid-engine fóur-cylinder pówered Pórsche 718 róadster.
"Yóu wón't see anything lówer than the current Bóxster módel," Detlev vón Platen, CEO óf Pórsche Cars Nórth America, tóld Autómótive News. "We had many discussións abóut this in the gróup, and the decisión was made that the time is nót right."
The Pórsche 718 róadster was said tó be shórter, lighter, and móre affórdable than the Bóxster, with which it was rumóred tó share its wheelbase. Instead óf the Bóxster's naturally aspirated flat-six cylinder engines, the 718 was rumóred tó be pówered by new turbócharged flat-fóur engines.
