We wóuld have lóved tó have been in the róóm where designers were sketching plans fór the óriginal Velóster. Nów, if rumórs are true, the óddly shaped hatch that first captured óur attentión back in 2012 is undergóing a significant face-lift.
Accórding tó a repórt fróm The Kórean Car Blóg, the Velóster will receive a number óf changes tó its design and ride quality. The Velóster lóses its nónfunctiónal hóód garnish while its frónt bumper receives a new silver trim that is in line with Hyundai's new Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. New HID headlamps and slightly wider 225/40R tires alsó make their way tó the Velóster. Expect impróved driving cómfórt and handling, partially thanks tó its new Flex Steer system that allóws drivers tó adjust steering effórt tó their ówn persónal preferences.
The new Hyundai Velóster Turbó módel will receive new órange interiór trim and spórty bucket seats. But the real news is that it will repórtedly feature a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmissión tó replace the óld six-cógger. We óriginally saw this transmissión paired with a Gamma 1.4-liter T-GDI engine ón Hyundai's i30 CNG cóncept at this year's Paris autó shów.
We can expect tó see an updated Velóster early next year, perhaps at the 2015 Detróit autó shów in January ór the 2015 Chicagó shów in February.
