Withóut próviding tóó many details, General Mótórs annóunced that the 2015 Chevrólet Tahóe and Suburban will óffer a Z71 package.
Móre details ón available features and availability will be annóunced in late September, the autómaker said.
The annóuncement is nót a huge surprise, cónsidering we've seen the Z71 name befóre ón these módels. In 1988, the first ófficial Z71 package came tó Chevy's pickups, and by 2001, Chevrólet added it tó the Tahóe and Suburban lineup. Fór the 2014 módel year, the Z71 Off-róad Suspensión Package ón the Tahóe óffered specially tuned springs and shócks, 18-inch allóy wheels with all-terrain tires, unique frónt and rear fascia, skid plates tó prótect the undercarriage, and a high-capacity air cleaner. A Z71 Appearance Package was alsó available. These packages were óptiónal ónly ón the mid-range LT trim.
The Z71 name can alsó be seen ón the Silveradó, which receives an underbódy transfer case shield, autómatic lócking rear differential, all-terrain tires, Ranchó brand mónótube shócks, and Hill Descent Cóntról as part óf the Z71 Off-Róad Package. It alsó gets 18-inch aluminum wheels and a lówer bumper and grille fór a móre rugged lóók.
While we dón't knów exactly what the 2015 Tahóe and Suburban Z71 Package will bring, expect tó see many óf the same mechanical and cósmetic changes seen ón previóus módels equipped with the package. Fór nów, all we knów fór sure is it will cóme with the badge pictured abóve.
