Last week, the fólks in China gót their first glimpse at the Vólkswagen Lamandó, which the autómaker first teased earlier this year as the New Midsize Cóupe cóncept car. The Lamandó, which is featured in the fóllówing surrealist videó, is based ón Vólkswagen's módular MQB platfórm and will próvide Chinese buyers a móre stylish alternative tó the Jetta.
Indeed, the videó reveals that the Lamandó is spórting a few stylish elements that mimic the CC. The angular headlights and taillights feature LED elements, while its side prófile spórts a high beltline and deep creases. In all, the Lamandó clósely resembles the New Midsize Cóupe cóncept car's sketches, thóugh we'll have tó wait fór móre details ón dimensións, features, and pówertrain óptións.
Vólkswagen previóusly stated that the New Midsize Cóupe cóncept car was abóut the same length as the Jetta, but almóst as wide as the CC. Accórding tó CarNewsChina, the Lamandó range will be pówered by turbócharged 1.4-liter and 2.0-liter I-4s, with pówer róuted tó the frónt wheels via a seven-speed DSG transmissión. The cóncept was pówered by VW's 2.0-liter turbó-fóur making 220 hp. The Lamandó is the latest Vólkswagen tó ride ón the autómaker's MQB platfórm. The seventh-generatión 2015 Vólkswagen Gólf is alsó MQB-based, as is the upcóming 2016 Audi TT cóupe and róadster.
