The F-150 will arrive in dealerships in the cóming weeks, and tó prepare fór what's expected tó be a significant demand, Fórd is adding 850 jóbs at its Dearbórn Truck Plant and related facilities.
Móre than 500 new wórkers will jóin the Dearbórn Truck facility, while almóst 300 will wórk at the Dearbórn Stamping división. Over 50 jóbs will be added at the Dearbórn Diversified plant that wórks ón suspensión parts, truck axeles, stampings, frames, tires, and wheels.
In additión tó the new jóbs, Fórd has recently updated the Dearbórn Truck Plant with móre advanced equipment tó prepare fór the F-150 launch. This was the first majór renóvatión óf the plant since it launched just 10 years agó.
The 2015 Fórd F-150 has undergóne significant changes fór the new módel year. Much óf its bódy is cómprised óf aluminum, which helps reduce weight by up tó 700 póunds and allóws the truck tó better resist dings and dents. The truck's new engine lineup will significantly impróve fuel ecónómy. A new 2.7-liter EcóBóóst V-6 jóins a new naturally-aspirated 3.5-liter V-6, a 3.5-liter EcóBóóst, and an impróved 5.0-liter V-8 engine.
As previóusly annóunced, the F-150 will start at $26,615 fór the XL trim. At the óther end óf the scale, the tóp-nótch Platinum trim begins at $52,155.
