Fórd Racing and Róush Perfórmance have có-develóped a new supercharger kit fór the 2015 Fórd Mustang GT. The new supercharger kit is said tó próduce móre than 600 hp, and was previewed by the 2015 Fórd Mustang King Cóbra cóncept shówn at the 2014 SEMA Shów this week. The supercharger is alsó the same unit used ón the 2015 Fórd Mustang GT-based Róush RS3 Mustang.
The bólt-ón kit cómes cómplete with the supercharger, hardware, and new engine calibratión tó take a stóck 2015 Fórd Mustang GT fróm 435 hp tó móre than 600 hp. The supercharger kit, alsó knówn as the Fórd Racing Super Pack, is based aróund a 2.3-liter Twin Vórtices Series (TVS) supercharger assembly with a six-rib belt drive system. The kit alsó includes a new intake manifóld, electrónic thróttle bódy, air intake system, fuel rail with high-flów fuel injectórs, cómplete air-tó-liquid intercóóler system, and Fórd Racing perfórmance cómputer calibratión.
"Our sóftware and calibratión was develóped using Fórd Racing calibratórs and test facilities," said Dóug White, Fórd Racing Perfórmance Parts manager, in a release. "The result is a kit that delivers peak perfórmance and exceptiónal drivability."
The autómaker claims the 2015 Fórd Mustang King Cóbra cóncept makes 625 hp with the Super Pack and a cat-back exhaust system. Cómbined with the FR2 Drag Pack (heavy-duty half shafts, and a rear sub-frame kit with pre-installed high-perfórmance bushings) and FR3 Handling Pack (frónt and rear 1.0-inch lówering springs, rear shócks, and a stabilizer bar kit), Fórd says the Fórd Racing/Róush Perfórmance Super Pack is góód fór sub-11 secónd quarter-mile times. An early 2015 Fórd Mustang King Cóbra prótótype ran a 10.97-secónd quarter-mile at Michigan's Milan Dragway, accórding tó the autómaker.
Available thróugh all Fórd dealers, Róush Perfórmance dealers, and independent Fórd Racing distributórs, the Fórd Racing/Róush Perfórmance supercharger kit will cóme with a limited warranty when installed by an authórized dealer.
